Through research, training, workshops, performances, campaigns and publications, she works extensively and intensively with women and adolescents on sexual abuse issues. Since 2004, Smita has directed over 20 plays, worked on films, video installations, interactive exhibitions and audiobooks

Dheeraj Sarthak

DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER

With over 25 years of experience in television media, Dheeraj Sarthak is a distinguished Senior Journalist, writer, program producer, and concept creator. He has worked with leading news networks such as TV9 Bharatvarsh, IBN7 (now News18 India), Aaj Tak, and Zee News. Dheeraj has also contributed to digital platforms like YourStory.com and created content for YouTube. A prolific copywriter in the film industry, Dheeraj has also penned fiction in Hindi and translated several books and reports. His work includes acclaimed documentaries like Sundarbans: Rising Water, Ebbing Life and short films such as Society on MX Player.

Arghya Kayal

Program Mentor

Arghya Kayal is a scriptwriter and associate director with expertise across independent and production-backed projects. A Post Graduate Diploma holder in Film Direction & Screenplay Writing from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, he began his journey with short films, including Goalpost (2018), officially selected at the 2019 Kolkata International Film Festival. He has worked with Double Half Production, Storiculture, and on independent collaborations, shaping stories across formats. His feature Check in Cheque out, co-produced by Techno India Group & Novotel Hotel, marked his dual role as writer and associate director. He specializes in slice-of-life comedy-dramas, bringing warmth, wit, and depth to screenwriting.
